2019: A Year in Review

2019 represents the first FY that TSI has officially survived – yes, SURVIVAL, a word, like it or not, frequently to be used in the first years of a company’s existence. We opened up shop in March 2019 marking the initiation of our incubation with ESA BIC Darmstadt – a dream come true – and since then soaked in this wonderful experience of trying to turn ideas into reality.
In these first 9 months of existence not only do we have two products/services commercially available (SHIEL3D & RAPTOR), but we also exhibited at the ESA Business Applications conference in Toulouse, the prestigious Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, Aerospace Startup Night in Berlin organised by the BMWi, and to end the year at the Space Tech Expo in Bremen. At these events we met some wonderful people and also had the chance to welcome some prominent personalities to our stands including Dr. Jan Wörner (Director General of ESA), Grazia Vittadini (CTO of Airbus) and Thomas Jarzombek (German Government’s coordinator for Aerospace).
The year ended on a positive note with the signing of a MoU between TSI & Yamaichi Special Steel (Japan) to bring FDM of metal & ceramics to the forefront of manufacturing, and between TSI & Azimut Space (Germany) to work towards commercializing the SHIEL3D thermal conductivity measurement system.
We look forward to continuing some of our promising work and working together with our current partners – and also new ones – in 2020.
We wish all of you a peaceful and healthy end to 2019. See you in the next decade
